Overlooking Lake Sammamish and the surrounding hills outside Bellevue, Washington

Modern Terraced Hillside Home

Approaching the home from the lower side of the property, the entry sequence begins through a sunken garage level tucked beneath the main living spaces, creating a clean and grounded street presence while allowing the rear of the property to fully open toward the landscape. At the backside of the residence, the site transitions into a flat outdoor living area complete with a large concrete patio, pool, and expansive entertaining spaces positioned to capture views overlooking the lake and surrounding hillside environment.

The architecture of the home is defined by a restrained modern palette featuring elongated horizontal stone tile cladding in soft beige tones, expansive walls of glass, and a clean flat roof paired with a standing seam metal roofing system. Oversized sliding glass doors stretching nearly ten feet wide create a seamless transition between interior and exterior spaces while filling the home with natural light throughout the day.

Refined Open Plan Living

Inside, the residence is organized around an open floor plan that creates connection between the kitchen, dining, and living spaces while still allowing each area to maintain its own character and scale. Subtle level changes throughout the interior help define the spaces architecturally, with the kitchen stepping down into the main living area while maintaining visual openness across the home. Warm modern finishes, clean lines, integrated lighting, and carefully framed sightlines contribute to a calm and refined atmosphere throughout the project.

Flexible Living Within a Site-Driven Modern Home

The home includes three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a dedicated office space designed to support both everyday living and flexible work from home functionality. The primary suite is positioned to take advantage of the surrounding views, while the upper level secondary bedrooms are connected by a shared full bath. A powder bath on the main level supports the home’s entertaining focused layout and overall flow.

The Sequoia Project represents a modern interpretation of factory built hillside architecture, combining modular construction with site driven design, expansive glazing, and a strong connection to the surrounding Pacific Northwest landscape.
